Pedaling the Pueblo – BICAS Women Trans Femme (WTF) Workshops

The BICAS (Bicycle Inter Community Art and Salvage) Women Trans and Femme (WTF) Workshops happen each Monday at BICAS, 2001 N. 7th Ave., and provide the same support, learning, and recycling as regular BICAS shop hours but in a supportive all-WTF/only-WTF atmosphere.

Women Trans* Femme (WTF) hours are open to anyone who identifies as female, transgender, femme, genderqueer, trans-masculine, trans-feminine, or feels that their socialization or treatment as a woman, transperson*, &/or femme has impeded their participation in bicycle mechanics.

In addition to the weekly workshops, WTF staff provide monthly activities and events, such as group rides and craft nights to bring people together and build community. Nearly all activities are free, or payable using the same sliding scale as regular BICAS shop hours.

For more information about upcoming WTF events and activities, check out their Facebook page here. Or find them on Instagram.

Pedaling the Pueblo is a mini-program and podcast that connects people to news and information about Tucson’s bicycle culture. A collective of bicycle enthusiasts host and produce weekly programs covering a wide variety of topics. From community events to questions about how bicycle funding works; tips to start riding more to interviews with local bicycling legends, Pedaling the Pueblo explores life on two wheels from a “people first” approach, allowing us all to have an open dialogue about how people move through our shared built environment.

Content is responsive to and driven by the community, so if you have a question or topic you’d like to hear covered, email us at [email protected]. You can also find us on Facebook.
