José Alejandro (Alex) Lira Carmona preserves and promotes the tapestry tradition of Huamantla, Tlaxcala. This art is a collective ephemeral in which he has actively participated all his life. He is recognized by the community as a Tapestry Master, a legacy from his father, the tapestry Master and artist José “Pepe” Lira. Alex Lira created Mexican Tapestry Artists, a civil society and collective group. Alejandro is an architect graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He also obtained a Master Degree in Design, Planning and Conservation of Landscapes and Gardens at the CYAD Atzcapotzalco at the Autonomous Metropolitan University (UAM). He coordinates the Estudio Lira based on multidisciplinary work focused on developing comprehensive design and architecture concepts.
