My name is Ruby Sierra and I am currently a junior at the University of Arizona pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience and cognitive science with a minor in biochemistry and Japanese. I am a proud Hispanic born and raised in Tucson, Arizona who has always been drawn to the STEM field since I was a child. I am currently under the EHS-TRUE program working in a respiratory toxicology laboratory under the guidance of Dr. Boitano studying the toxicological effects of arsenic in mine tailing dust from Arizona. Through this program and laboratory experience I have managed to take ahold of and lead my own projects as well as understand how to connect with the community. I am planning to continue with research for a bit and eventually become a physician.
