I can’t believe I didn’t mention in this frenetic ramble that raccoons are nocturnal. Well, they are and these magnificent creatures are quite adaptable as you often hear of them invading yards and houses in that region called the urban interface or suburbia. “Gangs of raccoons have invaded out exclusive neighborhood.” Yay for raccoons! But catching them in traps and moving them to an unknown territory has me thinking that this is not a good thing and it would have been better to have shot them. Live traps make the trapper feel good, but moving wild creatures from their known habitat seems a certain death sentence. I’ll talk about this more. I have to.
