The YWCA of Southern Arizona and its partners honor cultural traditions and the ongoing struggles that impact our community with this special Día de los Muertos event. This year, the community altar will focus on critical issues such as immigration, racism as a public health crisis, and gender violence. Through this powerful tradition, we remember those we’ve lost and raise awareness for much-needed change. The public is invited to participate in the Dia de los Muertos celebration—a project that honors cultural traditions while inspiring the community to take action in the upcoming election from October 26th until November 2nd, they will create a community altar at the YWCA Southern Arizona. Each day, they will focus on a specific issue affecting our community.
