Carolyn Sotelo is a passionate and experienced dental hygiene educator at Pima Community College in Tucson Arizona, with a deep commitment to advancing the field of oral health. With forty years of experience as a dental hygienist, Carolyn has had the privilege of working in both clinical and educational settings, allowing for a well-rounded approach to teaching the next generation of dental professionals.
Having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Rhode Island and a Masters degree in Education from Northern Arizona University, Carolyn is dedicated to fostering a comprehensive understanding of the scientific, clinical, and interpersonal aspects of dental hygiene. As an educator, Carolyn strives to inspire students by promoting evidence-based practices, critical thinking, and the importance of patient-centered care.
Beyond the classroom, Carolyn is an advocate for the ongoing professional development of dental hygiene practitioners and a firm believer in the power of education to improve patient outcomes and public health. With a focus on prevention, early intervention, and the integration of new technologies in dental care, Carolyn works to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world clinical practice as well as being dedicated to staying current with the latest research and advancements in oral health care.
