This week’s Nonprofit Spotlight shines on Community on Wheels (COW), a mobile mutual aid group providing essential items & resources to unsheltered/ street-based neighbors on stolen Tohono O’doham land.
Their objectives:
+ Support and aid vulnerable populations in and around South Tucson, using Santa Rita Park as their weekly hub to distribute items such as hygiene, first aid, nutrition, and harm reduction.
+ Provide solidarity and community care by forming relationships with folks who frequent their distributions, and offer services within their abilities and skills.
+ Continuing the work of other community groups in Tucson who advocate for systemic changes to solve rising housing costs and gaps in supportive services.
