My name is Adam Carl and I am second year student at the University of Arizona pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences with a physiology major. After graduating as a junior next year, I plan to pursue a master’s degree in Environmental Health Science. In addition to my coursework, I am an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Mary Kay O’Rourke’s Environmental Health Science research lab. The Hopi Environmental Health Project is a collaboration with the Hopi Tribe and the University of Arizona. I have seen every aspect of this project, from being on the field and collecting samples to processing those samples in the lab. I had the wonderful opportunity of living with my grandparents on the Hopi Reservation and delivering individual participant results as well. Around campus, I am involved in the Environmental Health Sciences-Transformative Research Undergraduate Experience program within Undergraduate Biological Research Program (UBRP). I am also a member of Phi Gamma Delta and enjoy giving back to the local community. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and finding a new trail to run on.
