This special brunch event is brought to you by the Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association (TKMA), who puts on the Tucson Folk Festival every year. Two spectacular duos hit the courtyard stage—Sunny Gable & Syndenn Sweet and Dos Sueños (Johny & Katie Vargas, also known for their work with Steff & the Articles and Soda Sun). SUNNY GABLE AND SYNDENN SWEET
Introducing the dynamic duo, Sunny Gable and Syndenn Sweet, a musical force to be reckoned with! Hailing from the enchanting landscapes of Durango and the vibrant city of Tucson, these two multi-talented artists have joined forces to create a harmonious blend of melodies, lyrics, and captivating stories.
Together, Sunny Gable and Syndenn Sweet form a musical partnership that is nothing short of magical. Their harmonies intertwine flawlessly, creating a sonic tapestry that is both soothing and invigorating. Their performances are a true feast for the senses, as they effortlessly switch between instruments, captivating audiences with their undeniable chemistry and stage presence.
But it’s not just their musical talents that set them apart; Sunny and Syndenn are also gifted storytellers. Through their lyrics, they paint vivid pictures of their respective hometowns, Durango and Tucson, inviting listeners to embark on a journey through the landscapes that have shaped them. DOS SUEÑOS
Dos Sueños is a Tucson-based, husband and wife, violin and guitar duo established in 2012. Guitarist Jonathan (Johny) Vargas and violinist Kaitlyn (Katie) Vargas enjoy performing a wide array of cover songs and original music influenced by their electro-acoustic dream pop sound. Dos Sueños performs at local Tucson venues as well as events such as wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and other private receptions.
Johny and Katie are both graduates from the University of Arizona School of Music. Both hold a bachelor’s degree in Music Education (U of A) and recently graduated from Arizona State University with their master’s degree in Music Teaching and Learning. They are both public high school/private studio music teachers in Tucson, AZ.
