Musician, author, and artist Rhett Miller has visited KXCI many times over the 20+ years of his extraordinary career. It was a joy to welcome him back to our Congress Street Studios on the eve of the release of his band Old 97’s thirteenth studio album, “American Primitive.” Here he plays a handful of songs from that new album and chats with host Hannah Levin about his affection for studying modalities of creativity, the comfort of leaning into his garage rock roots, and the power of independent radio.
