KXCI’s transmission line replacement was completed on Tuesday, January 18th, after two days of tower work.
You might have noticed that you weren’t able to hear KXCI’s radio broadcast signal in all of the places you are accustomed to. Unfortunately, KXCI’s transmission line suffered some damage on New Year’s eve and we had to switch to another transmitter which is weaker and further away. We had to wait until the materials were delivered and the work began on Monday, January 17th, and wrapped up on Tuesday, January 18th.
That also has fixed the displays on car radios that seemed stuck. That’s because that information is generated from the transmitter and that transmitter isn’t working. That should come back up again when the transmission line is fixed. The Radio Data System (RDS) allows FM radio to display the station, song title, and artist.
Please remember, there are lots of ways to stream KXCI online: https://kxci.org/about/streaming/.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked to resolve this issue.
