The Cure The Head on the Door
Released: early August 26, 1985
While never fully abandoning their goth roots, The Cure’s sixth studio album marks a shift from the gloom and doom of their early career to a more varied synth-indie-pop sound. Integrating different textures, influences, and melodies, it became the band’s most commercially successful album up to that point. Many consider this one of the group’s most accessible and definitive works, becoming the blueprint for the group’s later releases.
