Maria Mutz is a 4th year PhD student in the physics department at the University of Arizona using simulations to study the magnetic fields and behaviors of neutron stars (the densest stars in the universe). She is interested in uncovering the fundamental principles that govern everything from the tiniest particles to largest objects. And she is interested in how we, as humans, translate signals from all over the universe into things we can understand. When she is not doing research or teaching, she is reading books from the local library, cuddling with her cat, going to poetry readings, walking around the mountains, jamming, advocating for disability rights, and listening to KXCI!
