If you listened to Jazz Sundae on December 29, 2024, you may have heard our beloved Pepe Galvez announce his retirement from Sabor del Barrio. It’s hard to believe that one of our long-standing voices will be wrapping up his time here. Pepe began DJing on KXCI in the very early days of the station and has been a constant companion on Wednesday nights for many years as well as on Jazz Sundae. We will greatly miss his voice, incredible musical knowledge, and sense of humor. Here’s a photo collage that includes photos by Kathleen Dreier from Sonic Solstice.
