Vicki Brown is a violinist and maker of sound-scapes. In April, she played her violin with a saguaro in Saguaro National Park as part of the #IStandwithSaguaros campaign of the Standing with Saguaros project. Vicki shares her reflections on dueting with a saguaro immediately after the experience.
#IStandWithSaguaros is a campaign to befriend, support, and connect with the saguaro cactus, Carnegiea gigantea, iconic species of the Sonoran Desert. If you stood with a saguaro cactus for an hour, what would you discover? Try it. The final group stand happens on Sunday, May 29 with a closing ceremony at sunset (6-7:30) in Saguaro National Park East.
