This week’s Nonprofit Spotlight shines on Lynn Norris, Director of the United Nations Association Center, Southern Arizona Chapter (UNASA). UNASA’s primary mission is to support the ideals and vital work of the United Nations. As part of this mission, they provide education on the various activities of the United Nations. People across the United States need to know more about the real impact of the U.N. Chartered in 1964, the Southern Arizona Chapter is one of 120 United Nations Association Chapters across the United States that works with their local community and elected officials to inform, inspire, and mobilize Americans to support the principles and vital work of the U.N. Their other mission is to provide financial support for UNICEF, through their gift store, which has been in business since 1975. More than fifty volunteers help run the gift store, donating at least 14,000 hours of their time.
