IMG_6920 This show could also be called Typha latifolia and Grus canadensis, which has a nice scientific ring to it. Cattails are “plants of marshes and sloughs” and they remind me of my childhood. Apropos of nothing, there was a peanut butter and coconut candy back in those days as well called cattails.

The Sandhill Cranes are abundant this year and I recommend a trip to see them. The Sulphur Springs Valley is surrounded by magnificent mountains, but the valley itself is pretty well hammered by agriculture old and new.  The cranes bring beauty to the valley.
