About Mambo Cat Trio
Mambo Cat Trio is a vibrant instrumental ensemble that brings together the irresistible rhythms of Latin music with the raw, vintage energy of 1950s rock ’n’ roll. The group is composed of three distinctive musicians: Naïm Amor on electric guitar, Carlos Solis on Latin percussion (congas, bongos, and more), and Thøger
Lund on upright bass. Together, they create a rich and dynamic sound that blends classic genres such as mambo, bolero, and cha-cha-cha with the twang and attitude of early rock. Their music is both nostalgic and fresh—rooted in tradition yet infused with a modern, cinematic edge.
Naïm Amor’s expressive guitar lines weave melody and atmosphere, channeling surf rock textures and vintage tones, while Carlos Solis lays down intricate, driving rhythms that bring authentic Latin grooves to life. Anchoring the trio, Thøger Lund’s upright bass provides depth and swing, tying everything together with
warmth and precision. The result is an instrumental journey that evokes smoky dance halls, desert landscapes, and retro film soundtracks. Mambo Cat Trio invites audiences into a world where Latin rhythms meet rock ’n’ roll spirit—timeless, evocative, and irresistibly groovy.
Catch Mambo Cat Trio live in Tucson this summer. They will be playing on Aug 20 at El Presidio Museum, Aug 21st at La Esquina, and September 4th at Jackrabbit Lounge.
