Join writer and explorer Morgan Sjogren as she retraces the 1920s expeditions of Charles L. Bernheimer, whose dream of a National Park in the Glen Canyon region could have changed the course of history. Guided by Bernheimer’s journals and photographs, Sjogren spent over 300 days following his route through the Four Corners landscape. She shares powerful reflections on land, stewardship, and the human stories that continue to shape the Southwest. With a deep awareness of colonization’s legacies, Sjogren explores what it means to be an “explorer” today—and how love for the desert can inspire a new generation to protect it.
Recordings of each Archaeology Café are posted online following the event.
