KXCI Juneteenth Programming:

KXCI will celebrate Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19th, with a day of featured programming. Join us for a day of reflection and jubilee with messages from community members and special selections from DJs Mario, Minister Jo, Traci, CJ Boyd and Mookie. The music and programming on KXCI will honor this Black freedom holiday as we look at the past and continuing work of the Civil Rights Movement. At KXCI, we are proud to honor Juneteenth with special programming highlighting our community’s voices and stories. We have gathered ten powerful messages from esteemed Tucsonans, offering their insights and reflections on this significant day.

Our guests include Larry Starks, the Tucson Juneteenth Festival Board President, Tessa Marshall, Dedra Clark-McGee and Carl Bedford from the Tucson Jazz Society. Each Message provides a unique perspective, contributing to a richer understanding of Juneteenth and its importance.
