Diggin’ in the crates’ is a term coined by hip hop, house and any other sample-based music producers and DJs in search of new, unique, and inspiring sounds from records. These sounds can be from any genre but typically from old jazz, funk, and soul vinyl. Since its inception, hip hop has played a major role in influencing culture and music and that influence has come full-circle and currently plays major role in how jazz is now being recorded and played. Each week Diggin’ in the Crates provides an eclectic mix of neosoul, contemporary jazz, R&B, and hip hop with the records that helped shape and influence all of these genres.
Diggin’ in the Crates is hosted by David.
