30 Minutes featured a conversation with Meg Weesner and Randy Serraglio. They are part of the core team of organizers for the People’s Climate March in Tucson on April 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m in El Presidio Park.

Meg Weesner is Group Chair for the Rincon Group of the Sierra Club. Randy Serraglio is Southwest Conservation Advocate for the Center for Biological Diversity.

Nationally, The Peoples Climate Movement mobilizes on April 29th in Washington, D.C. with dozens of sister marches across the country to stand up for communities and climate. Organizers say that people need to stand together to protect our climate, our health, and our communities. While part of that is resisting the current political agenda of denial and obstruction, organizers also believe that it is crucial to build a vision of a better world and rise together to make it possible.

In Tucson, participants will will meet-up at 10am in El Presidio Park with guest speakers. A march will take place through downtown departing at 11am. Festivities will continue until 2:00 pm in El Presidio Park with more speakers, music, and a volunteer fair with local organizations.

Recorded and produced by Amanda Shauger.
