Thesis Thursday is a program on KXCI which runs every Thursday. We invite our friends from The University of Arizona to come down to the station and chat a little bit about what they are working on, their plans for the future and we even talk a little bit about music. Today’s guest is Ariana Rayne Garcia. Ariana is a senior studying Biological Anthropology and Molecular and Cellular Biology. She is currently working on her Senior Thesis on how psychosocial stress and mental health affect pregnancy in semi-rural Panama. Outside of the classroom Ariana likes to stay involved both on and off campus. She is involved in many community-centered organizations including Amigos de las Americas, Girl Up!, Esperanza Dance Project, and the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Ambassadors. When Ariana is not busy with class or being involved in the community she likes to spend time reading, doing yoga, or outdoors running or hiking. Ariana is looking forward to eventually going to graduate school studying Medical Anthropology and focusing in maternal and child health.
Thesis Thursday is produced by Bridgitte Thum at KXCI studios in Tucson Arizona.
