Hey everybody! My name is Andrew Alamban and I was born in the
Philippines but then moved to Parker, where I graduated from Parker High
School in 2016. I’m currently a junior studying Molecular and Cellular Biology,
as well as Mathematics here at the University of Arizona. I’m extremely lucky
to work in the lab of Dr. Janis Burt to study the properties of gap junctions,
which allows cells to directly communicate with each other; a cell’s “cell
phone,” if you will. When not doing science, I can be found singing along to
music from the Beatles all the way to Childish Gambino or defending the
relevance of the Star Wars prequels.
