30 Minutes commemorates 50 Years of the Wilderness Act, which was signed into law in September 1964. A new exhibit at the University of Arizona showcases how the Wilderness Act continues to benefit the American people by ensuring millions of acres of public land are available for recreation, exploration and inspiration. “The Wilderness Act: Arizonans Keeping It Wild for 50 Years” is on display through September 26 in Special Collections, 1510 E. University Blvd.
Today on 30 Minutes, excerpts from the opening presentation which featured Dean of UA Libraries Karen Wilson, Mayor of Tucson Jonathan Rothschild, Pima County Supervisor Richard Elias, and guest curator Meg Weesner. KXCI Community Radio Chicano Connections DJ Bob Diaz co-curated the exhibit.
