TENWEST Festival and Tugo Bike Share – a perfect Tandem

In this episode, we hear from Dre Voelkel, Festival Director of the TENWEST Festival,  as she is getting ready to welcome more than 5,000 people to Tucson.  TENWEST invites participants to experience 100+ unique events that encourage curiosity and discovery in the arts, social impact, STEM, entrepreneurship, technology, and sustainability.

Now in its fourth year, the TENWEST Festival will take place from October 12th through October 21st. A Passport for the ten days of TENWEST Festival gives you access to exhibitions, workshops, discussions, performances, panels, demonstrations, and mixers at venues all across downtown Tucson, the University of Arizona Campus, and Pima Community College West Campus. Because almost all of the Festival venues have a Tugo Bike Share station either right out their door or just a block away, not to mention the alignment of their values of social impact and sustainability, Tugo is a natural partner.

So this year, Tugo Bike Share is including a special rate of $12 for two weeks of unlimited 30-minute rides as a perk for all TENWEST Passport holders! Yolanda Jordan, Marketing Lead for Tugo Bike Share, shares how this discount pass gives TENWEST participant an easy option for moving between events, or exploring the downtown and University area. This Passport perk also allows out of town participants, or locals who aren’t familiar with Tugo, a chance to try out the bike share system and see how they could incorporate Tugo Bike Share into their daily routine.

If that wasn’t enough, Nick Grzebienik, General Manager of Tugo Bike Share, lays out some fun activation events they are hosting during TENWEST Festival, including an A-Mountain Time Trial at 8am on Saturday October 13th, a learn to bike and bike skills class at the Tucson Convention Center at 4pm on Wednesday October 17th, and then a downtown  bike tour and social ride with Living Streets Alliance at 5pm on Wednesday October.

You can find more information on the full TENWEST Festival Schedule, purchase Passports, see all the fun Tugo Bikeshare activities and other Passport perks at http://tenwest.com. Information on Tugo Bike Share membership options can be found at http://tugobikeshare.com.
