Pedaling the Pueblo – Tucson’s Safe Routes to School Program

In this episode we chat with Vanessa Cascio, Program Director for the City of Tucson Safe Routes to School Program (SRTS). Vanessa describes two recent neighborhood traffic calming projects on 8th Ave. outside of two Safe Routes to School focus schools – Mission View Elementary and Ochoa Community School.

Vanessa describes the significance of these projects – both from a traffic calming perspective and in the broader sense of bringing people together to build community and connect around shared needs and to foster understanding.

To find out more about the Safe Routes to School program visit their website here, or find them on Facebook.
