I am a senior at the University of Arizona majoring in microbiology with a minor in biochemistry. For the past year or so, I have been with Dr. Lisa Nagy’s developmental biology lab working to use CRISPR to modify a flour beetle so that florescent imaging of it’s development can be made to better understand the mechanisms of segmentation. I have also recently completed a summer research program at The Parasitology Institute in Ceske Budjovice, Czech Republic. There I studied tick borne diseases such as Lyme Disease and Relapsing Fever. I love to travel, as such, I hope to continue my studies there at the University of Southern Bohemia when I graduate!
