Andrew Saal joined the Pima County Health Department as the Assistant Medical Director in 2024. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and board-certified in Clinical Informatics. Andrew served with the US Indian Health Service on the Hopi Reservation for many years. He later joined North Country Healthcare in Flagstaff, overseeing its grow from 3 to 13 clinical sites including Grand Canyon National Park. As the Chief Medical Officer of the Providence Community Health Centers in Rhode Island, he oversaw the agency’s transformation from safety net services to one of the highest quality community health centers in the United States. With a strong focus on population health, he helped launch a community health worker program, as well as clinical pharmacy services and a residency for family nurse practitioners. Andrew has held faculty appointments with medical schools in Arizona, Vermont, and Rhode Island. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University. His clinical interests include identifying and addressing healthcare disparities, empowering communities, and helping train the next generation of clinicians.
Anissa Taylor, is an epidemiology program manager at Pima County Health Department where she oversees investigations for vaccine preventable disease, foodborne illness, waterborne illness, binational investigations, and tribal partnerships within the communicable disease realm. She has worked in public health for 20 years, including working as a respiratory epidemiologist at the PCHD TB clinic. In her spare time, she is a LT. reserve officer with the US public Health Service Commission Corps.
