DH_Dinner_Poster-768x1024 30 Minutes speaks with members of the local human rights group Derechos Humanos: Missing Migrant Project coordinator Cristen Vernon, as well as board member and spokesperson Isabel Garcia. They spoke about their work and the upcoming 10th Corazón de Justicia Awards Dinner, Saturday Nov. 15 at El Casino Ballroom. Derechos Humanos will honor 11 Tucson activists who have demonstrated their “heart of justice” through their work in the community to make Tucson a more just and equitable place for all of us. The event features dinner and live music with cumbia/ska band Santa Pachita.

Derechos Humanos focuses their work on five main areas: Coalition Work, Know Your Rights, Missing Migrant Project, Wage Theft Clinic, and Yo Soy Testigo-I am a Witness.
