Big Jump Study Tour Takes Tucson to the Netherlands, pt. 1
In June, members of the City of Tucson’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Program and the City Manager’s Office participated in a study tour to the Netherlands as part of the People for Bikes Big Jump project. The Tucson delegation joined 9 other delegations from cities like New Orleans, Austin, Providence, and Memphis to learn from the best in a country that has a bicycle use rate of 26% (it is said there are more bicycles than people in parts of the country).
We sat down with Assistant City Manager Albert Elias who was part of the Tucson delegation for a two-part interview highlighting his experience and takeaways from the study tour.
