BICAS 4th Annual Hottest Day of the Year Ride

Summer is upon us here in the Old Pueblo and for locals who love riding bikes, it’s an opportunity to celebrate with community.  In this episode, Pedaling the Pueblo host Andy Bemis talks with BICAS staff Kristin McCray and Wendy Bedoya about the 4th Annual Hottest Day of the Year Ride, BBQ and Pool Party.

BICAS (Bicycle Inter-Community Art & Salvage) is a local non-profit organization with a mission to participate in affordable bicycle transportation, education and creative recycling in the greater Tucson community through bicycle advocacy and salvage.  BICAS invites community members and bicycle enthusiasts to join in a celebration of bikes and our special Sonoran heat on the hottest day of the year (possibly), June 24th from 9am-3pm.  Slather on the sun screen, bring plenty of water, and join a merry group of fellow bicycle lovers for a leisurely ride with stops to cool down and mingle, followed by a family friendly BBQ and pool party in Mansfield park.  Food will be provided along with beer generously donated by local event sponsor Dragoon Brewing Company.

The Hottest Day of the Year Ride is a fundraiser in support of BICAS’ mission and to help cover the costs of their up coming relocation to a new building opening in September.  More information available at: http://bicas.org/hottestride/
