From KXCI Tucson, this is Bonus Tracks. I am DJ Quaviar Windelbug and I want to talk about the famous hip-hop slash rap, singer-songwriter Yeat: his origins, career, his pseudonym, and facts. Yeat’s real name is Noah Oliver Smith. He was born on February 26, 2000 in Irvine, California. He started his music career in 2015 with the original name Lil Yeat, but has since got rid of the Lil in his name. When he was, After making his name, he has stated that he wanted something that was one word long and memorable.
2018 was when he made his first appearance with the final name Yeat. There he performed a track named Brink. Have a listen. He has stated his alias was a combination of the two words Yeet and Heat.
Yeat has created his own sort of jargon over the years with his own made-up words like “Tonka Truck” referring to luxury cars, specifically a Lamborghini Urus, and Twizzy meaning a close friend. Something else about Yeat is that he likes to give the letter E in his song titles an accent mark with no confirmed reason to my knowledge. He has made a track for the Minions movie named Rich Minions. in 2022, though his skyrocketing fame had come a year before that.
He became a viral sensation when he released the hit album Up To Me in 2021, with hit songs like Money So Big, Get Busy, and Swerved It.
He went massively famous, especially on social media. And though that is not all of each story, that’s all from me. Thanks for listening to Bonus Track from KXCI Tucson. For more information and episodes, visit kxi.org.
