Alba Nora Martinez was born in Monterrey, Mexico and has lived in Tucson for 30 years. She taught Literature classes in the Spanish and the Portuguese Department of the University of Arizona for 20 years. In 2012, she retired from teaching and now she devotes her time to reading, writing, studying and playing music. Her latest books are “Las Hijas de las Sirenas”, “Reunion de Monstruas” and a book of poems entitled “Después.” In 2023, Alba Nora was recognized with the Second Literature Award “Mexican Diaspora” for her poem “De Legendaria Raíz”.
