0:11: On this station, we’re determined to educate our listeners on what’s occurring in the musical community and encouraging you all to explore.
0:20: Today, I’ll be discussing the British rock band Arctic Monkeys, their history as a band, some of their prevalent music, and their multi-generational influence.

0:40: In England in 2002, Arctic Monkeys was founded.
0:44: Soon after their music was shared online by fans before they had a record deal, their debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s what I’m Not, in 2006, received much love from their audience.
1:03: In this album, I recognize they started off with a garage rock vibe, which is completely on brand for them being 20 years younger, and it screams youthful and energetic.
1:14: My personal favorite song off that album is I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor.

1:30: During the creation of this bonus track, I was going through a lot of options, so I went to my mom for advice.
1:36: After I played fluorescent Adolescence, she asked who the artist was and her reaction was priceless.

1:43: She immediately began to share how She and her brother bonded over their love for Arctic Monkeys while playing video games.
1:50: It wasn’t clear to me how old their music was until my mom started telling me how she was the same age as me, listening to the same artists.
2:05: Now we can jump into their star album, AM.
2:09: I love every song on it, and I feel like it was for sure the highlight of their career.
2:13: The feeling this album gives is completely unexplainable.

2:34: You can hear the progression and really defining their own distinct sound and style.
2:38: The music has clearly matured over the years, as well as the voice of the lead vocalist, Alex Turner.
