The Tucson Flute Club will present their annual Members’ Recital on Sunday, May 7, at 3 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church (in the Sanctuary). The recital will feature solo, duet, trio, and other small ensemble performances, plus selections performed by the Southern Arizona Flute Orchestra, a group of about 30 flutists. The public is warmly invited. Mask wearing is encouraged. Admission is free, with donations appreciated.
At the conclusion of the concert, a handmade quilt will be raffled. Tickets are $10 or 3 for $25.
The instrumentation for the concert will include six sizes of flutes – piccolo, C flute, alto flute, bass flute, contrabass flute, and sub-contrabass flute – encompassing seven octaves and producing a surprising, richly textured sound.
