The Tucson Flute Club will present their annual Members’ Recital on Sunday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church (in the Sanctuary). The recital will feature some movements from Claude Bolling’s Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano, some lovely French pieces, an alto flute solo and an alto flute trio, the quartet Skyline Flutes, and the Flute Loops, a group of about 10 flutists. The Southern Arizona Flute Orchestra, under the baton of Shirleen Lee, will perform familiar selections such as the overture to Candide and Londonderry Air, and something new, entitled Dancing Dessert Suite. The public is warmly invited. Admission is free, with donations appreciated.
