Internationally observed on November 20th, Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is dedicated to raising awareness of the violence faced by Trans people, especially Trans Women of Color, and honoring our Trans kin stolen through violence every year. Kindred Connections Collective calls community to gather on TDOR in celebration, remembrance, and promise to create practical ways of addressing transphobia and violence.
TDOR is a free, family-friendly community event. It includes a resource fair staffed by community partners offering wellness, harm reduction, basic needs, information, and activities focused on community development. QTBIPOC makers are invited to sell locally-made crafts, wellness items and more. A local Trans community member provides a keynote regarding the significance of TDOR intersected with their lived experience.
