From April 11th-April 14th,  the nonprofit Tucson City of Gastronomy (TCoG) will kick off the third annual international festival celebrating the gastronomies, histories, and food cultures of maíz (corn) in Tucson and three other UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy. Participating cities this year will include Tucson, San Antonio, Mérida MX, and Bergamo-Gandino IT.

The closing event of Pueblos del Maiz will be a concert headlined by Cuban superstar Cimafunk on Sunday, April 14th, at the Rialto Theatre.  Supporting bands will include the Arizona cumbia act Pijama Piyama, an Old Pueblo favorite, and Mariachi Nuevo Azteca for a diverse and eclectic evening of Latin music in Downtown Tucson.
