Midtown Mercantile Merchants Joins the Inaugural
VINTAGE STORE DAY
Saturday, May 17, 2025
Nearly 600 Stores Participating!
TUCSON, May 12, 2025 – Midtown Mercantile Merchants, 3333 E. Speedway, Tucson, is thrilled to join the first-ever Vintage Store Day on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10 am to 6 pm. This international movement celebrating independent vintage retailers across the U.S. currently features nearly 600 stores in 42 states, plus the District of Columbia and four Canadian provinces. Like Record Store Day and Stationary Store Day, Vintage Store Day provides an opportunity for local, brick and mortar businesses to lift up these beloved specialty stores, boost sales and celebrate their communities.
Vintage Store Day co-founder and Rare Form owner Emma Lewis comments, “This has been a real grassroots effort to unite vintage stores across the country. Vintage encompasses a lot, including clothing, home decor, and art – but most of all an appreciation for reuse, upcycling and preservation.
When supply chains shut down and no one could buy furniture from the big box stores, many turned to buying vintage from their communities and in doing so kept that money in their local economy. While the circumstances are different now, the benefits are still the same: we can preserve and appreciate the past while supporting our local economy and our neighborhood businesses. I believe people are championing these values now more than ever and that’s why we have a thriving vintage community, which deserves a day of celebration.”

About the Vintage Store Day Founders:
Vintage Store Day is founded by Chicago-based Lost Girls and Rare Form.
Rare Form is an art deco concept store, showcasing antique, vintage and vintage-inspired home goods and gifts. The store opened in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood in the fall of 2023 by owner Emma Lewis, a trained art historian with a PhD. Rare Form specializes in art prints, both modern and antique, but stands out for its unique and vast collection of 100+ year old prints at affordable price points that makes art collecting accessible to a wider range of customers. Rare Form offers a unique historically-minded perspective and highly curated selection of goods from around the world, especially the UK and Europe, as well as locally-sourced products.
Chicago-based Lost Girls was started by Sarah Azzouzi and Kyla Embrey in 2013 out of a 1976 RV they affectionately call Winnie. Twelve years and hundreds of pop ups later they have two shops in Chicago, one in the West Town/Wicker Park neighborhood and one in the Logan Square neighborhood. They carry size 00-4X+ and strive to find something that’ll work for everyone. Their bright pink and orange shops feature colorful vintage from the 1920s onward to Y2K fashions featuring the best examples of fashion from every decade. Their Division Street shop features more of a vintage designer and rare collection while their Logan shop is more fun and flirty, featuring their first housewares store within it. They only sell what they love! With influences like Carmen Miranda, Fran Fine, Stevie Nicks, Moroccan Design, Emily Lou Harris, American Rodeo and all the amazing inspiration we stumble upon in our travels.
