Celebrate Black Creativity and Culture at the Making Black History Market in Tucson!
The Making Black History Market is thrilled to announce its upcoming bi-annual event, dedicated to celebrating and promoting black-owned businesses and culture in Tucson. Join us on Saturday, August 31st, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Z Street International Marketplace Zemam’s & Zerai’s Intl Bar, for an evening filled with community, creativity, and culture.
The MBHM is more than just a market; it is a celebration of black entrepreneurship and our talents. Our mission is to provide a platform that showcases the diversity of black creativity and fosters economic empowerment and community pride. Through networking, education, and commerce, we aim to strengthen connections within our community and beyond.
Event Highlights:
17 Black-Owned Businesses- Discover unique products and services from local black entrepreneurs.
Trap Yoga- Participate in an energizing yoga session with a modern twist.
Live Printing by Fraqtals- Witness live printing demonstrations and get custom items.
Ethiopian Cuisine- Savor delicious dishes from Z Street Zemam’s.
Meet TUSD Representative Sadie Shaw- Engage with Sadie Shaw and learn about her campaign for re-election.
Learn About AAMSAZ- Get educated about the African American Museum of Southern Arizona (AAMSAZ) and their mission to preserve black history and culture.
In support of our community, a portion of sales from Z Street will be donated to the African American Museum of Southern Arizona. By enjoying cocktails and Ethiopian cuisine at the event, attendees will contribute to AAMSAZ’s mission of documenting, digitizing, and preserving African American and Black life, culture, and history in Southern Arizona.
The evening will conclude with an exciting aftermarket party hosted by DJ Herm, ensuring the celebration continues into the night.
We invite everyone to come out, support black-owned businesses, and be part of this incredible event. Follow us on Instagram at @makingblackhistorymarke for updates, and feel free to contact us at [email protected] with any questions.
