Welcome back to the vibrant, one day only, spring version of the semi-annual Made in Tucson Market, Arizona’s largest and most sustainable local only market.
Started in 2018 by the Historic 4th Ave. Coalition (HFAC) with just 50 artists, the free, family-friendly market will feature more than 250 artists and creatives and more than a dozen local food trucks where you can meet, greet, and support your talented Tucson maker community. Find fresh ideas from both emerging artists and seasoned professionals— all with a local handprint. Connect with creators making everything from unique handmade cards to collectible art, original jewelry to upcycled clothing, lotions to potions, and all manner of desert delicacies available directly from our inspired and wide-ranging creative community. Shop local and add to a sustainable planet!
This year, with its continued focus on inclusion, diversity, outreach and opportunity, the market will see Tucson’s TENWEST Festival add its community spirit in the Corbett Building, a historic space within the market’s two block area, where they will lead a variety of activities including mural painting, kid’s activities, music and more.
We are pleased to be a sustainable forward event: be sure to look for recycling and composting stations and bring your refillable water bottles to fill up at our water stations, or purchase a reusable cup of our famous limeade! Help keep our precious desert clean and green!
Included in the market this year will be the grassroots organization Derechos Humanos which promotes the human and civil rights of all migrants regardless of their immigration status. Stop by their tent to get information or to learn how you can volunteer and get involved.
Maybe it’s the light or the healing desert air, but Tucson has long been heralded as a place with a diverse, wide-ranging, and generous creative community. Amidst an increasingly hostile and alienating political and physical climate, our ongoing mission and priorities remain the same: to offer an inclusive, collaborative climate in which the Tucson community and her visitors can come together to support, preserve, and nourish the vibrant connections that make Tucson one of the great cities for ALL people— and living—in the country.
The Historic 4h Avenue Coalition (HFAC)
The Coalition is a volunteer group of neighborhood folks, business owners, artists and activists dedicated to the preservation and protection of equity, diversity and accessibility of the 4th Avenue District. HFAC came together in 2017 to encourage smart development on the Avenue and have since grown into stewards of healthy localism. Built by and for our community HFAC works to bring public art and voices to 4th Avenue and promotes sustainable practices while providing support for neighbors and businesses to help everyone thrive.
The Coalition founded the Made in Tucson Market in 2018, Arizona’s largest and most sustainable local-only market and uses funds from the semi-annual market to rent and maintain the Coalition Space at 311 E 7th St. in Tucson. The Coalition Space is a brick-and-mortar space intended for community events, from small markets to movie nights, workshops and classes to that creative idea you wanted to do if you only had the room. It is available on a sliding scale for individuals and organizations.
