Keith Secola & David Huckfelt Live at La Rosa April 5

SUPPORT
Keith Secola and David Huckfelt

Longtime musical allies & songwriter troubadours Keith Secola and David Huckfelt have been very, very busy…just this month they performed together in Hollywood on behalf of the hit new TV show “Dark Winds” on AMC, performing Keith’s beloved Indigenous anthem “NDN Kars” with John Densmore of The Doors in the “Best Song Recorded For Television” award category.

Over the course of a 15 year musical friendship, Secola & Huckfelt have shared stages together with such diverse artists and activists as Bon Iver, The Indigo Girls, Ani Difranco, Winona LaDuke & Louise Erdrich; now, they’ve found a home together as label-mates on Don Giovanni Records, both releasing new music in 2026. Huckfelt’s Tucson-made record “I Was Born, But…” has been garnering rave reviews coast to coast with it’s nuanced curating of songs by Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Adrianne Lenker, Howe Gelb & Secola himself. A brand new original song, “Chief Seattle’s Dream”, was featured in the season four premiere of “Dark Winds”, and features a collaboration with John Trudell’s longtime singing collaborator Quiltma of the Warm Springs Nation. Secola has been making the rounds as elder statesman in Indian Country, performing with such legends as Gary Farmer and contributing to benefits and ceremonies with the likes of Arvol Looking Horse.

Together, the two artists are honorary Tucsonians, having record often with Gabriel Sullivan at Dust + Stone Studios, and frequently collaborating with Howe Gelb, Tom Walbank, Gabriel Ayala, and other luminaries of the local scene. Sunday, April 5th will be Secola’s debut at the celebrated new Tucson venue La Rosa, and Huckfelt’s first return after a powerful show last year with Tom Walbank. Expect new songs, ample special guests and contributors, and an explosive night of songs, storytelling, and Native Americana!
