Celebrate the songs of legendary songwriter John Prine at a special Song Circle Brunch Concert on Sunday, March 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Monterey Court.
All of the performers are mainstays of the legendary song circles hosted by Tucson Kitchen Musicians Association on the first and third Sundays of the month at Monterey Court. Together they’ll share favorite songs by John Prine, whose five-decade career produced some of the most beloved and influential songs in American folk music. Ask almost any songwriter and they’ll tell you they have a favorite John Prine song.
Pair the music with a fabulous brunch from the Monterey Court kitchen. Try the Eggs Benedict—soft poached eggs on a toasted English muffin with spinach, covered in rich house-made hollandaise and served with Southwest potatoes or fruit. Or maybe the Monty Cristo: thick French toast layered with ham, Swiss and cheddar, topped with two soft poached eggs and real maple syrup.
A beautiful way to spend a sunny Sunday morning in the Old Pueblo. Tucson is one of those rare places where great music and community come together under the desert sun and our local songwriters keep that tradition alive every week. with gatherings like the TKMA song circles and venues like Monterey Court, Tucson is becoming the kind of vibrant music town that reminds people of Austin Texas in its early days.
