Over a twenty-year musical relationship and close friendship, folk & blues songwriter aficionados David Huckfelt (formerly of The Pines) and Tom Walbank (formerly of Tucson) are presently at the top of their game and the height of their improvisational powers; fierce performers and deep students of American roots music, original as their forebears. On this very special evening, Walbank will make his highly anticipated return to Tucson, his home for more than 25 years, for his first performance since leaving his beloved desert home. David Huckfelt returns to town from the faraway lands of Minnesota, back to the scene of his most recent recording, a brand new record called “I Was Born, But…” recorded in Tucson with a host of local luminaries and due out in January on Don Giovanni Records. Expect both artists to romp through new material, together and separately, and handfuls of special guests including Huckfelt’s AZ band “The Unarmed Forces of Sonora” featuring Gabriel Sullivan, Winston Watson, Thoger Teten Lund & more. Surprises await; get your tickets today!
Local blues legend Tom Walbank returns to Tucson for a dual record release event with widely travelled singer/songwriter David Huckfelt, who has deep Tucson roots. This is Tom Walbabnk’s first Tucson show since relocating to Washington DC earlier this year.
