Join us to celebrate the opening of MOCA’s Great Hall exhibition Fay Ray: PORTALS, with food by Ensenada Street Food, drinks, and music!

PORTALS presents the first solo museum exhibition by Los Angeles-based artist Fay Ray featuring large-scale metal hanging sculptures and a suite of new site-specific commissions, composed with forms that reference abstraction, the natural world, and spiritual iconography. The works merge industrial and organic materials like machined aluminum sheeting, individually hand-looped chains, cast-metal objects from daily life, and stone medallions. Ray references her experiences growing up in California’s high-desert region and her family’s multi-generational agricultural lineage linking the regions of California, Arizona, and Northern Mexico.
