The 8th annual Ethnic, Gender, Transborder Studies & Sociology (EGTSS) Summit of Pima Community College welcomes internationally and locally known leaders in education, culture, and politics for a public conference on topics impacting Tucson’s diverse communities. The spring 2024 summit’s theme is, “Climate Action, Sustainability, and Eco-Justice: Thinking Globally, Acting Locally.” The keynote speaker, Ami Vitale, is an award-winning, internationally recognized, National Geographic photographer, Nikon Ambassador, and documentary filmmaker. Her work spans themes from war to wildlife across the globe, including the Middle East, Africa, and China. Vitale will share, “a series of powerful images and stories about people on the front lines of war, climate nge, and extinction who refuse to let cataclysm define their future.”
