TheThe Drawing Studio invites Southern Arizona to continue the celebration of resistance, resilience, reverence and joy with a monthlong lineup of Juneteenth events. This year’s theme of “Nourishment” will take participants on a journey through history focusing on how foods with African-originated ingredients have helped shape the African-American experience throughout time.
Building upon last year’s Juneteenth Art Expo, which drew more than 700 attendees on the hottest day of the year, all bearing witness to a never-before-seen collection of art that included painting, sculpture, poetry, and song – 2026 expands the experience with a month-long gallery exhibition, a lecture series paired with family art activities, a one-day film festival, and the main event: an all-day expo on Juneteenth with a culinary tour featuring ingredients originating from Africa.
