Since their inception in Athens, Georgia in 1996, the Drive-By Truckers have cultivated a twin-powered reputation for delivering exceptional live rock shows and subverting antiquated ideas about southern rock with intelligent writing and progressive ideals. Even here, with pared-down personnel, they are no less potent as they share a song written in the aftermath of fellow Americana musician Justin Townes Earle’s fatal overdose. You can watch more of our session with the Drive-By Truckers on our YouTube channel (and please like and subscribe while you’re there!).
