Tune in as DJs broadcast live from 7 am to 6 pm from KXCI studios inside the historic Hotel Congress. International Clash Day began as a tribute to The Clash’s music and legacy as champions of the oppressed and advocates for a better world, but has since evolved into a banner celebration of the issues and messages the band stood for.
This year’s theme is #clashforclimate, with an emphasis on empowering and inspiring listeners to take local action to combat climate change in their communities. KXCI is one of more than 150 radio stations participating around the globe on all seven continents. As part of Friday’s festivities, KXCI will host See the Bees, an interactive educational exhibit, on the Hotel Congress Plaza from 4 – 6 pm. This community event is free and designed for all ages. Families, school groups, and curious adults are invited to enjoy the displays.
See the Bees was founded by Master Beekeeper and honeybee researcher Mona Chambers and combines a fully contained educational observation hive with live bees, honey tasting, and a dynamic overview of pollination and beekeepingThe fun continues at 7 p.m. with an afterparty at Che’s Lounge (21+) with DJs from Wooden Tooth Records playing a Clash-inspired set on the patio.
