Hi, I’m KXCI Executive Director Cathy Rivers. I hope you are having a wonderful holiday season. Thank you to everyone who pledged during our year end membership drive- we had great success and a lot of fun!!! I’m proud of all that KXCI has achieved this year.

2016 has been a great year here at KXCI. Tucson Weekly Readers voted KXCI the Best Radio Station for Music for the third year in a row. We began distributing some of our mini-programs nationally through Public Radio Exchange (PRX). We’re really excited about the launch of new programs such as Pedaling The Pueblo, Film Club, The Saguaro Minute and Randi’s Picks. We’ve begun to teach podcasting classes which will lay the foundation for even more new voices to be heard. In fact, you could sign up for the next class on January 14th!
Behind the scenes we renovated our live performance Studio 2A and outfitted it with video cameras which enable us to capture video content during Locals Only and other in-studio performances. You can see some of our latest videos here. Our front yard now has passive rain water harvesting and desert adapted landscaping.
KXCI produced and/or promoted some great memorable concerts including: Ani Difranco, Dusk Music Festival, 4thtoberfest, The 5th Annual House Rockin Blues Review, and the incredible and sold out Lalopalooza: Celebrating a Century of the Father of Chicano Music Lalo Guerrero. We’ve curated the Jukebox at 191 Toole, featuring all KXCI picks.
We are now enrolled in the Fry’s Community Rewards Program– be sure to register your card online. We’re extending our outreach by partnering with Google Ad Grants for nonprofits.
And one of the most exciting is that we have begun construction on our adjunct studio located in Historic Hotel Congress. There is so much to look forward to in the New Year, so Stay Tuned.
I want to thank all of KXCI’s volunteers, staff and our Board of Directors for all of their incredible hard work and dedication over this last year. And most of all, I want to thank you you for making KXCI a part of your life. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and fantastic new year. As always I am here if you need me. I can be reached [email protected] or 520-623-1000 ext. 12.
With the end of the calendar year quickly approaching, there’s still time to make your year end tax deductible donation to your community radio station. Please take a moment to ensure 2017 is geared to be extraordinary and the best in KXCI’s history. Thank you for making community radio in Tucson possible!

Here’s what what we can achieve together in 2017!
